Procter & Gamble sponsored the first-ever Alumni Award Reception, recognizing outstanding Haile/US Bank College of Business alumni and friends. The event was held Monday, September 25th as a kick-off to Business Week. The reception featured four awards, including: Young Professional of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, and Special Recognition.
Megan Tringale, International Tax Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, was recognized as this year’s Young Professional of the Year. Mrs. Triangle graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in May 2006, and with a Masters of Accountancy degree in May 2007. Today Mrs. Triangle specializes in international tax consulting for major multi-national enterprises, including structure planning, mergers and acquisitions, repatriation planning, foreign tax credit planning, and integrated holding and finance company structuring.
Tom Wiedemann, Chief Operating Officer at AAA Club Alliance, was presented with the Business Leader of the Year award. Under Mr. Wiedemann’s leadership, AAA Club Alliance has experienced unprecedented success and growth, both organically and through numerous mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wiedemann received a Bachelor of Science in Management from Northern Kentucky University in 1990 and has completed numerous executive education sessions at Stanford University and the University of Dayton.
Jim Monton was recognized as the Humanitarian of the Year. Mr. Monton, who retired from Proctor & Gamble in 2005 after 37 years of outstanding service, led the launch of Pantene Pro V, which has become the world’s largest beauty care brand. He also managed other Proctor & Gamble projects while living and working in many countries throughout his tenure with the company. Today Mr. Monton serves on the Haile/US Bank College of Business Advisory Board and has been a member of the Greater Cincinnati Foreign Policy Leadership Council. He is a frequent speaker at business seminars and gives guest lectures to business school classes.
Oakley B. and Eva G. Farris received Special Recognition at the reception. The longtime Covington couple has invested substantially in supporting education and civic initiatives, including funding for the Covington Archdiocese, Covington Latin School, and remodeling the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center. They have provided generous support to scholarships in the Haile/US Bank College of Business and renovations including the Eva G. Farris Virtual Executive Board Room, Eva G. Farris Reading Room, the Eva G. Farris Auditorium, the Oakley and Eva G. Farris Amphitheater, and the Eva G. and Oakley Farris Commons in Griffin Hall. In 2011, Mr. Farris received the Voices of Giving Award from the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council for establishing a planned gift to support the long-term goals of NKU.
