February 28, 2022 - Dr. Shamima Ahmed, a professor in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Northern Kentucky University, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award and will complete a project at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The goal of Dr. Ahmed’s project will be to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities, both in the United States and Tajikistan. The project includes training and educational activities within the public administration field.
“I feel humbled by this selection,” Dr. Ahmed said. “This project offers me another exciting opportunity not only to make some long-lasting contributions to the Academy of Public Administration in Tajikistan, but also to learn and to grow.”
Dr. Ahmed was selected as a Fulbright Specialist based on her academic and professional achievements, leadership in the field of public administration, and potential to foster long-term cooperation between institutions in the United States and worldwide. This is Dr. Ahmed’s second Fulbright project — she previously completed a project in Myanmar.
Dr. Ahmed, who joined the NKU faculty in 1995, teaches classes in human resource management, nonprofit organizations, and organizational behavior and theory. She is also the instructor for the MPA capstone course. Sponsored by the United States government,
The Fulbright Specialist Program is designed for the United States to build lasting connections with other countries through an educational exchange program.
